In the summer we grow multiple varieties of tomatoes, eggplant, hot & sweet peppers, cucumbers, okra, squash, zucchini, and beans. Most of these will continue in the winter season until we get our first frost. Storage crops like onions, potatoes, and butternut squash are distributed occasionally throughout the winter. Cool season crops grow right on through our mild winters. Root crops such as carrots, turnips, rutabagas, green onions, leeks, beets, kohlrabi, and an assortment of radishes are a mainstay of deep winter, but our favorites are the greens. We love kale, both for its abundance and its many uses. We also grow spinach, Brussells sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, turnip greens, collards, pak choi, Swiss chard, mustard, and various Asian greens. Spring comes early here, so the earliest summer crops will enter the mix before this winter season is even over.
Our large share is a popular choice. It is typically enough for a family of four and fills a half-bushel basket. A medium share is usually good for a couple and packs a peck basket, while a small share is a half-peck and is the most common choice for one person. We also offer a jumbo share in a one bushel basket and a group share which is two oversized bushel boxes.
