CSA:   Tall Trees Community Farm   (May-November)

(0 reviews)

We expect the growing season to be generating edible crops for our members to enjoy from early May through the end of October and, for some crops, even into November. We have scheduled our share pick-up for Sundays, 1-3 pm. This will give families an opportunity to come out to Tall Trees and visit the gardens, walk in the woods, hang out with farmers, friends, and family, and enjoy the outdoors if they so desire. Maybe some of you will be riding your horse or bike over to pick up your share...

We plan to follow the MSU CSA format of having a buffet-style pick-up where each member packs their own share into their own recycled or permanent bags. That way you can pick out which of the great looking tomatoes, peppers, etc. you like best... we'lll tell you how much you get but , you select between the big cabbage or the 2 little heads, etc. depending on your taste and needs. .Be assured that shares will include a wide range of veggies! Recipes will be shared for the seasonal and possibly"strange" (for now) veggies --.yummy!

Vacation? We can defer your share for 1-2 weeks if given advance notice. Sorry, but we don't have facilities for storing shares that aren't picked up. Many people who can't pick up their share will have a friend, neighbor, or another member pick them up and store them or distribute to friends or to those less fortunate. Sometimes community groups purchase shares to provide needy families with fresh produce.

Your membership to Tall Trees Community Farm CSA will cover our costs and labor, as well as serve as an investment in the community. You will be helping to keep this beautiful and unique 150+ acre property, with its wonderful natural areas, as an open space and a resource for our children and grandchildren. (Did you know that two different sources of the Huron River originate on Tall Trees? Did you know there is confer"sanctuary", a seep, a fen, a maple-beech forest, and an oak-hickory forest? All of these can be explored when you pick up your shares).
