We have been growing these raspberry plants for over 3 years here in Ohio. The "mother" plant comes from a hardy New England stock started over 20 years ago! These cultivated raspberry plants produce a plump, sweet, berry that can be used in jams, jellies, and dressings. We like them best eaten straight off the vine!
We offer both a red red raspberry with small thorns, and are easier to pick than the wild berries. We also offer black capped black raspberries with a larger thorn. Both berries can be pruned to stay small, or left to grow into a full grove over time. They can produce fruit from mid summer into early fall. We grow our berries without the use of synthetic pesticides, or fertilizers. Organic mulch, and plenty of sunshine make these berries a summertime hit, especially with children. You can be glad that they enjoy the fresh, plump fruit without any added chemicals.
The berry plants will be pruned, dug and shipped in early spring, or fall depending on conditions . They will be shipped in quantities of four plants per order. Planting instructions will be included. The red raspberries will do well in any area, but prefer well prepared soil with full sun. the black prefer well drained soil and partial sun to shade. In the summer months keeping them well watered will provide larger berries. They range in size from a dime to a quarter depending on growing conditions.
All orders are made here on the farm and are usually shipped within 5-7 business days.
