Cumin is the second most popular spice in the world after black pepper.
Cumin can be used ground or as whole seeds. Cumin was also used heavily in ancient Roman cuisine. It helps to add an earthy and warming feeling to cooking, making it a staple in certain stews and soups, as well as curries and chilli.
Cumin is also used in making cheese, breads, garam masala, curry powder and bahaarat.
Cumin is sometimes confused with caraway seed, but it is not the same as cumin is hotter than caraway and lighter in color.

For the most part unless mentioned otherwise, each tea bag will make 2 cups of tea; one ounce of just an herb is about a sandwich bag, and sometimes a little more. If an ounce of herb tea it would be about 1/2 a sandwich bag. If it is a root herb such as burdock root it is heavier, thus an ounce would be about a quarter of a sandwich bag. Comfrey, plantain and nettle leaves would be in a quart size bag.
