This afghan is 100% alpaca fiber from our alpaca mom named Mira. The fiber was shorn, skirted and sent to a small mill where it was washed, carded and spun into yarn. The table runner design on which the afghan is loosely based was originally published by Cora Kirchmaier in 1919. The afghan won both the Judge's Choice and People's Choice awards at the national show of the Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association in Louisville last spring. The judge commented on the wonderful drape and handle of the yarn. That's our Mira!
