Bishop's Children, Dahlia variabilis. Although dahlias were discovered in the 16th century by Spanish conquistadores, not until 1872 was a box of tubers sent to Holland. As its name suggests, Bishop's Children is a seed grown descendant of Bishop of Llandaff, introduced in 1927. Striking mix of rich colors, impressive dark foliage. Half-hardy annual, 28-36" tall.
