Smudging is a traditional ritual from the native people of both North and South America. To smudge is to purify with smoke from specific sacred plants and herbs. Certain plants are held in high esteem and are used for cleansing, purifying and bringing positive influence into your space. The herbs are lit, the flame is gently blown out, and as the smoke arises a feather is often used to move the smoke around the room or person. Best used with swift lit charcoal, in a heat-proof container or on a bed of sand or gravel. Never leave unattended.
