Located in Bowdoinham on 75 acres of land in the scenic mid-coast region of Maine, Dancing Cricket Farm is the flagship project of the Center for Ecological and Cultural Living Arts (CECLA). A very key part of the mission of CECLA is to contribute to increased localization and sustainability in food production by operating a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program that contributes to the food supply for the community and local food banks by producing high quality vegetables and herbs.
The farmers at Dancing Cricket are dedicated to providing the local community with high quality organic vegetables, herbs and flowers using only sustainable, environmentally friendly farming practices. The raising of crops at the Dancing Cricket Farm is being implemented as part of a holistic land management model that integrates farming activities with stewardship and management of forestland, wetlands, streams, and wildlife.
Infrastructure is being designed to "work" in terms of the overall landscape, using principles of sustainable development, and using recycled materials as much as possible. We see farming as a cornerstone of our operation; a cornerstone that¢ï¿½??s bound to the other building blocks of ecological resources on the land, as well as to our neighbors who share our crops and use the water downstream.
Located in the mid-coast region of Maine, in the Town of Bowdoinham, Dancing Cricket Farm is dedicated to providing the local community with high quality organic vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers.
