Deer Run Farm is located on 200+ acres in Amelia County, just southwest of Richmond, Virginia. The property has been owned and operated by the Hutchinson Family for 35 years. We specialize in grass-fed/finished beef, pasture raised poultry and eggs from free-roaming pastured hens. Our animals are never given hormones or antibiotics. Although our chickens are raised on pasture, they require grain for protein. We feed only Organic, Non-GMO, Soy free feed. We are transitioning our pastures to all organic products and utilize soil and water conservation practices to maintain the integrity of the land. Deer Run Farm raises its own grass-finished cattle and they are given no hormones or antibiotics. Our cattle are born and raised on our pastures, allowing them to follow their natural instinct to graze. We start and finish our cattle on grass. Grass-fed beef, besides being lower in saturated fat, also contains more of the beneficial unsaturated fatty acids called Omega 3's. Our laying hens roam freely in our pastures and our meat chickens are raised in chicken tractors and moved twice daily.
