Deglet Noor dates are the chewy "bread date" familiar to most. These drier dates are excellent for a snack or in trail mix. This should also be your choice if you want date pieces in baked goods, such as chunky date cookies or fruit cake... a good "pocket food" or for the car or desk, not sticky, no refrigeration needed... you do need good teeth! Originally from Algeria and Tunisia, load 'em up on your camel and head across the Sahara. Ours are NOT rehydrated, like most commercial deglets, though a light rinse will add some moisture. *Our last Harvest from our young palms (1/20/09) includes beautiful softer fruit ("naturals", not rehydrated).
