We are a family owned and operated farm located on the Oregon coast in Tillamook . We started off specializing in artichokes including the Emerald, Imperial Star, Green Globe and an Italian Violetto varieties; but over the years, we have expanded considerably and now grow a large variety of vegetables.
We believe in substainable farming, and only use organic sprays when necessary to control aphids, and cut worms. We take care of weeds the old fashioned way - by hand; and, and we use cow compost from our own dairy farm as fertilizer.
We sell our produce at our farm stand and at several farmer's markets in the Portland area every weekend.
The coastal climate is usually milder than the Willamette Valley, so we are able to have a pretty good variety of produce all throughout the year. It's possible that the marine air also inhances the flavors of our vegetables. People routinely comment on how sweet all our produce is. The location may be part of it, but we also believe that the farm's 150 years of being used as a dairy makes our soil extremely rich and fertile.
This year we are growing artichokes, brussels sprouts, carrots, beets, cabbage, lettuce, kale, collards, rappinni, broccoli, cauliflower, romanesco, sunchokes, potatoes, spinach, parsnips, turnips, radishes, fava beans, sugar snap and English shelling peas, swiss chard, onions, leeks, cilantro, basil, heirloom tomatoes, sungold and cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, jalepenos, cherry bombs, Sweet Italian peppers, green beans. squash, zuchinni, daikon radish, and fennel.
Fresh artichokes from Tillamook, Oregon. We have everything from babies to jumbos. Our Italian variety is our favorite. We love to grill them with garlic chive pesto. They are delicious and nutritious! You can find us at farmer's markets in the Portland area every Sat/Sun. We also have a variety of fresh vegetables at our farm stand located at 735 Wilson River Loop in Tillamoook. Look for us on Facebook for recipes, product availabilty & farmers market locations.
