Depicted are two ducklings ~ a Blue Swede and a Cayuga ~ hatched by one of our Local Harvest customers this Spring!
We have a flock of about 60 heritage-breed ducks, including Magpies, Khaki Campbells, Runners, Cayugas, Blue Swedish, and Welsh Harlequin. They are allowed to free-range except when confined in breeding groups, and even then we release each group in turn so they can get in plenty of exercise and dabbling!
Ducks make wonderful pets ~ gentle and entertaining. And they will lay lots of their large, delicious eggs for you. All of these breeds have proved to be great layers.
We cannot guarantee hatch rates, but will ship your fertile eggs with the utmost care, and we do guarantee their safe arrival.
Our yarns, nuts, and particularly our garden seeds, make perfect holiday gifts in synergy with our shared goals of environmental protection, sustainability, and food security.
