Dukes Farm

Dukes Farm is a small, family-run operation on 40 acres in Skandia Township, about 20 miles southeast of Marquette, Michigan. Vegetables are grown on about 4 acres.

Dukes Farm exceeds national USDA Organic standards for growing produce, meaning our vegetables are safe for you, your family, and the environment.

Equally as important as growing safe food, we focus on two things that make our farm stand out locally:

* Fresh, local produce does not have to be a luxury item; we work hard to make sure we offer the best prices possible to our customers - prices fair to both seller and buyer.

* All of our produce that needs to be fresh (cured/storage items, like onions, don't need to be) is brought to the customer within 24 hours of harvest. We do not refrigerate our produce for days or weeks before sale. It is always fresh-picked.

Due to a cold growing climate, Dukes Farm specializes in cold-hardy crops, such as cabbage and greens, as well as root vegetables, such as potatoes, carrots, onions, and beets. Seedlings and some warm-weather vegetables are grown in hoophouses.

Many of Dukes Farm heritage vegetables are heritage varieties, developed over the centuries with a priority on good flavor.

You can buy our produce in three different ways:

* Shop at our stand at the Downtown Marquette Farmers' Market (Saturdays, 9am to 1pm, mid-May through October), in Marquette, Michigan

* Sign up to be a CSA member and receive a weekly box of fresh-picked vegetables from June into October

* Purchase our produce at area grocers, including the Marquette Food Co-Op.
