Earth Sky Time Community Farm

We have been farming organically at Earth Sky Time for the last six years. We farm in an area with a rich agricultural history. Yet, the Northshire, like much of our rural countryside, has gone from fertile farm land to exclusive subdivisions. At the same time, our food supply has become increasingly globalized. We believe in local solutions, and by feeding our community we reclaim our agrarian roots and resist commodification.

By signing on you become part of the farm. You provide capital in the spring when seeds and supplies must be purchased. But more importantly you provide the meaning for why we work so hard. We want to feed you! And we want you to see how we do it. We want you to know where your food comes from. Meet the chickens who lay your eggs, and feel the soil that yields tender spinach and snow peas in the spring, heirloom tomatoes and French charantais melons in summer, and Brussels sprouts, Cinderella pumpkins, and Gilfeather turnips in the fall.

We grow hundreds of vegetable, herb and flower varieties at Earth Sky Time. Some are old favorites, and some are pretty exotic. A great thing about our CSA is that you can play it as safe as you want, or you can try all the funky stuff. Each week we put out a newsletter about what's happening on the farm. We also provide recipes for some of the lesser known vegetables (sunchokes and kohlrabi anyone?) The cost of one share for the 20 week season is $460, this works out to $23 per week. A smaller share is available for $300 ($15 per week). This is an investment in your health and our community. A weekly bread share is also available. Visit our website to learn more.
