Located along the Potomac River, the Robert Ware Straus Ecosystem Farm is the Accokeek Foundation's 8-acre certified organic farm. Host to a seasonal apprentice program, the farm serves as a teaching model for sustainable agriculture and the future of farming.

Certified Organic,  naturally grown

Founded in 1957 to protect the view from Mount Vernon across the Potomac River, the Accokeek Foundation, an educational nonprofit, stewards 200 acres of Piscataway National Park. Visitors can hike a network of trails, visit the National Colonial Farm, a living history museum that depicts a Maryland middle-class farm on the eve of the American Revolution, and visit the Ecosystem Farm, where farmers learn the tools of a new trade and practice sustainable sustainable use of natural resources.
