We understand this pepper originated from the Sucre region of Venezuela, the El Sucre Fuego pepper variety is FEROCIOUSLY HOT thought to be one of the hottest peppers but we do not know if it has been measured. These peppers look similar to the Habanero and ripen from lime green to orange to a rich red, the plant reaching about 30 - 36 inches tall.
EXTREME CAUTION MUST BE TAKEN when handling this pepper. This is a very nasty hot pepper! They grow on medium sized 2-3 ft plants, with each plant producing up to 50, 2 x 1.5 inch richly colored red wrinkled fruits which reach maturity approx 100 days after transplanting. The extreme heat is balanced by a fruit-like flavor that makes great salsa and hot sauces. Use sparingly!
NOTE: These seeds are EXTREMELY hot and odiferous and should be handled with CAUTION! It is advised to wear gloves when handling these peppers, keep them away from children, and thoroughly clean all kitchen utensils like cutting boards, knives etc.

We carefully pack our plants to make sure that they ship safely but we cannot guarantee how they are treated once they leave our nursery.
