Engelbert Farms, LLC is a certified organic dairy farm, also producing certified organic beef, pork, veal, and cheese. We have been farming organically since 1981 and have been certified since 1984. Engelbert Farms has been a family farm in the same location since 1911. We own around 600 acres and lease around 1200 - all certified organic.

In 2009 we opened an organic farm store on our farm, and sell cuts of beef, pork, veal, and cheeses, as well as products from other local farms. Our hours are Friday and Saturday from 10 to 3, or by appointment. Our farm store is open all year. You can also find us at the Otsiningo Park Farmers Market in Binghamton, NY every Saturday from 9 to 1, May through October.

Our dairy animals are given a new pasture with fresh grass each day from late April through mid-November. They are fed a small amount of organic corn, which is grown on our farm. Most of our milk is sold through Organic Valley, but we occasionally keep a small amount of milk back to be made into organic Cheddar(8 varieties), Gouda (3 varieties), Feta, Beer-Brined Moochego (Cow milk Manchego brined in organic brown ale), and MooVache, a soft, spreadable, Chevre-style cheese made with our organic cow milk (7 varieties).

Our beef animals are 100% grass-fed from late April through Mid-November, and over the winter they are fed organic dry hay, organic balage (higher moisture hay) and a small amount of organic corn silage, which is grown on our farm. The corn silage is less than 5% of their diet over the winter.

Certified organic piglets are born on the farm, and occasionally purchased from a local organic farm to be raised for our organic pork. Our pigs are raised outdoors with plenty of room to exhibit their natural behavior and be pigs!

Our animals are not confined. Organic standards do not allow the use of antibiotics, hormones, synthetic wormers, GMO feeds or animal by-products. We raise all of our own organic feed, which is produced without pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and chemical fertilizers.

Engelbert Farms is a true family farm, with 7 members of our family working on the farm. All of our products are certified organic by Vermont Organic Farmers. Our cows are raised on lush pastures throughout the grazing season. No antibiotics, hormones, synthetic wormers, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), or animal by products are ever given to our animals. We raise all of our own organic feed on the farm. Engelbert Farms is our source for Organic livestock feed and cheese. We have had great success with their feed (pig and chicken). We were especially happy to see that they now sell cheese made from their own milk. Plus they have an on-farm store now too!


Kevin and Lisa provide excellent local, organic feed at a reasonable price. I have heard raves about their meat as well (we grow our own, so I haven't tried it) They have also gone out of their way to help other farmers by sharing time and advice. Thanks guys!
