EUCALYPTUS of the family Myrtaceae.
Eucalyptus actions are; antibacterial, antimalarial, antifungal, antipyretic, antiseptic, stimulates mucous secretions and diaphoretic.
Active against; malaria, staphylococcus aureus, Shigella dysenteriae, Haemophilus influenzae, enterobacteria, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida albicans, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Salmonella spp., Helobacter pylori.
Eucalyptus is especially useful for upper respiratory and urinary tract infections. Also eucalyptus is one of the broadest spectrum against antibiotic-resistant disease. The scent is very pleasing, especially in the sickroom. This uplifting odor of the herb is in its own way a powerful additive to the healing process in that it helps alleviate the inevitable depression attending long and severe illnesses.
Although some herbalist suggest using EUCALYPTUS as a tea and taking eucalyptus internally,I don't. Eucalyptus can be used in an inhaler, in a spray bottle , as a muscle rub, ointment or even as a potpourri very effectively.
CAUTIONS: Do NOT use this herb if you have inflammatory disease of the bile ducts (such as gallbladder disease) or severe liver disease.

For the most part unless mentioned otherwise, each tea bag will make 3 to 4 cups of tea; If loose herb tea,two ounces will make about 23 cups of tea . One ounce of just an herb is about a sandwich bag, and sometimes a little more. If it is a root herb such as burdock root it is heavier, thus an ounce would be about a quarter of a sandwich bag. Comfrey, plantain and nettle leaves would be in a quart size bag.
