5 generational farm beginning with Alice & Bernard Shay in the 1940's. My grandparents, the Shay's lived on this property and farmed a nice size garden. Our grandchildren are now learning the ways of tending to the earth, pride in growing natural, and harvesting in abundance. Heirloom Ground Cherries, many varieties of good strong hardneck garlic available. Many heirloom varieties of tomatoes, melons, squash, eggplant and peppers of all colors shining in the sun. We're always trying new old varieties. On any given day, you'll find many family members tending to the fields by hand. All produce is hand picked. Or you may find "Pa" in the field on his 1950's WD tractor taking care of the earth. We begin in March, growing all of our plants from seeds. Beautiful plants develop in our hoop greenhouses. Come May, we hand plant every vegetable plant. In October, we start planting our garlic. Last year we planted 48,000 cloves. We feel close to our grandparents by tending to their land. The generational lessons need to be preserved and we're doing our part.

5 generation heritage farm produces Ground Cherries, Garlic and Garlic Scapes and other varieties of produce. Ground Cherries, Garlic and Scapes can be shipped anywhere within the United States. We have been been part of our grandparents root cellars, canning days and exciting harvest weeks. We believe that food grown in this environment is not only healthier, but keeps alive a way of living that is now rare. Enjoy our produce!
