The event will begin at Central Lakes College Ag Center in Staples. The Ag Center is located west of the intersection of County Road 2 and Airport Rd. on the north side of town.
Interact with experts in beginning farm operations and sustainable agriculture. The workshop, which includes lunch, is provided at no cost to veterans and their families. Sams will also deliver a keynote speech.
This workshop is presented as a part of a collaboration among several organizations including the Sustainable Farming Association, the National Resources Conservation Service, Land Stewardship Project, and the Farmer-Veteran Coalition. It is also a part of SFAs ongoing Grazefest(TM) series.
As a part of this workshop, you'll be able to participate in Land Stewardship Projects Farm Dreams session to assess your farming skills and knowledge as well as the values that are drawing you to farming.
