Winter Container Gardening with Willow LaMonte

Sweetwater Organic Community Farm - Tampa, Florida

Folk Herbalist, wildcrafter and long-time organic gardener Willow LaMonte will host a special weekday workshop on Thursday, November 29, 2012 from 12:30 to 2:30pm at Sweetwater Organic Community Farm.

Willow will teach urban gardeners how grow fresh food naturally and inexpensively in mobile containers. Participants will learn how to safely grow edibles in non-toxic planters without plastic and will find out what greens, root crops and herbs will thrive in Floridaâ?™s winters. Organic seeds and seedlings will also be available for purchase. Willow LaMonte is the owner of Willow Herbal Delight Gardens in Valrico.

The workshop fee is $10-20. Cash or check only. Following the workshop, visitors may take a self-guided tour of the farm and see how our CSA (community supported agriculture) weekly membership pickup operates. Must RSVP to Elizabeth Murray, Event Coordinator: events@sweetwater-organic.org or call 813-887-4066.
