Dairy Goats & Meat Goats:
The products they produce and how to market them. The first half of the class you will learn all the intricate details of milking your Doe- including hands on a freshened Goat, testing and pasteurizing the milk, how to care for the udder, and proper nutrition. We will address the value added products and how to effectively market them.
The second half of the class will focus on where and when to harvest, legal requirements, which cuts of meat are most popular, where, when and how to market your meat and additional value added products from your meat goats. We are sharing with you all the lessons we have learned during the past 7 years with the hope that you will avoid some of the pitfalls we encountered and enjoy the road to success! Tuition will include a BBQ Goat lunch and notebook.
