The Saberon family has been commercially growing produce in Star Valley for 5 years. Although our farm has had much success supplying fresh produce to area restaurants, grocery stores, and the Jackson Hole Farmers Market, our true fulfillment comes from farming for our community. With three incredible community-farming seasons behind us, we have decided to continue our goals again under the name of EverGreen Farm and CSA. We are proud of our CSA, building community through a local food network is our passion. However, we also look forward to continue supplying gourmet foods to specialty grocers, the Jackson Hole Farmers Market, and the finest restaurants. We love farming and look forward to expanding our operation and vision while serving the community in which we live.
What Is A CSA?
EverGreen Farm and CSA operates under the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model. In its simplest form, this is an arrangement between a farmer and a consumer seeking fresh produce. Members receive weekly shares of fresh natural produce at a reasonable cost, and we receive an income to cover farm expenses and labor.
Whether you support our farm through CSA membership, the farmers market, a specialty grocer, or gormet restaurant, you receive our personal commitment to provide you with a seasons worth of chemical free, naturally grown, nutritious produce that is beyond organic.
When Is Our Produce Available?
With the use of greenhouses and other means, we plan to offer fresh, seasonal produce for our CSA from about June 1st through October 31st. Our produce will be made available on a weekly basis for CSA members at pick-up locations in the lower and upper ends of Star Valley and in Jackson Hole.
The Jackson Hole Farmers' Market is typically scheduled from the second week in July through the second week of September.
Specialty grocers and restaurants can expect to receive produce from mid-April through October.
Why Should You Purchase Our Produce?
For most of us our taste buds can answer this one, but there are other important reasons to join a community farm. Community Supported Agriculture connects the family to the farm where their food is grown. Locally grown food tastes better, is healthier for you, better for the planet, and better for our communities. For many families, it is more satisfying to join a CSA rather than purchase food from a supermarket that is weeks old and has been transported hundreds if not thousands of miles to the store from where it is to be purchased. We encourage and welcome our community farm members to become involved with the farm by participating in work parties, taking a tour, coming to a harvest celebration, or bringing children out to see where their food is grown.
What are others saying?
Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity for good clean food. We loved hearing the farm news through the weekly newsletter. Thank you for all your hard work. The veggies were so clean, fresh and beautiful. I think everything is great. The veggies are great. Love the variety. I like belonging to your organization knowing that we can help support you in your slower season and help you get established. I wish you were closer so that I could help you on the farm. I think itd be great. Thank you, thank you, we eat so well when we have your produce and I love it. Overall I really think you are doing a wonderful service and I was glad I had an opportunity to share in the benefits. I ate most of the full share by myself (and) I only gave away and froze a little. I see as the greatest benefit of belonging to your organization We get the freshest, tastiest, most nutritious veggies available. Your packaging is terrific, by the way. Its amazing to get the food already cleaned! Wow. The variety you are able to provide boggles my mind. I love it
