Evergreen Students for Sustainable Animal Agriculture is a registered student organization at The Evergreen State College whose mission is to promote education in animal agriculture. We are currently raising a flock of 20 ewes and their lambs on leased land near Olympia. Students make management decisions and care for the animals.
Our ewes and their lambs are on grass pasture their whole lives. We practice rotational grazing and finish our lambs on grass. When needed, the diet is supplemented with hay and/or locally grown grass silage. The mother sheep are given a small amount of grain to meet their nutritional needs during pregnancy and lactation.
We emphasize stress free handling and do not dock tails. We use preventative health care management to minimize disease.
Please e-mail us if you have any questions or would like to purchase lamb.
