I raise sheep. My sheep are a combination of Shetland, Finn, and Dorset. I have white ones and a color pattern called English blue. They have black fleeces with a gray saddle on their backs and white "tear drops" on their faces. This year I had some English browns born and my new ram is one. The 3 way combination of these breeds give a light, springy wool that borders between medium and fine yet has a low gloss to it. It also gives them excellent natural health and good feet (the Shetland blood). I shear and wash the wool, dye it, and then sell it or send it to be processed into rovings and then sell it. Some years I grow and dry gourds too. I have 5 acres on the edge of town. It is a challenge to manage on tight space when 4 of your 5 acers are hillside. I have also added 3 Angora goats to the mix. They are faded reds. One is pink, one is orange and one is red.
