A Communities Garden: Fairlight Community Gardens: A community oriented garden project. Our intention is to bring a fresh produce to diverse community, engaging them in the medium and process of gardening, growing learning about their food. Based out of the Mesilla Valley Community of Hope a non-profit homeless and near homeless day center. The organic/no-till garden consists of 1/4 acre+ and greenhouse grown. Our goals: 1. To reach families and individuals with limited means, helping them gain access to fresh organic produce. 2. Educating people about where there food comes from and the process of growing it is also one of our goals. Our programs: 1. Work/trade low-income CSA; low-income individuals and families work an hour a week in the garden and receive a weekly share (a selection of in-season vegetables, to supply 5-7 meals) of veggies from the garden, usually picked that same day with members help. 2.
