The Northwest Detroit Farmers' Market operates every Thursday from 4PM through 8 PM during the months of July, August, September and October in the parking lot of the Bushnell Congregational Church. It regularly hosts nearly twenty vendors that sell locally grown produce, homemade baked goods, and hand-made crafts. A variety of seasonal produce fresh from the fields is always available along with an assortment of other enticing homemade goods, such as pastas, breads, vegan fare, barbeque sauce and pies. Hand-blended teas and honey are also available, as well as a multitude of flowers. The focus, however, is on fresh, nutritional offerings because the Market serves an area lacking alternative sources of fruit and vegetables.
