Starting Saturday's July 11, 2009, through September 5th, from 12 noon to 5 pm, there will be a new and exciting event happening downtown near the University of Akron. Vendors of all types, farmers, artists, and entertainers will all be gathering at noon to take part in the Akron Free Market. What is the Akron Free Market you might ask yourself? Well, if you combine the best of the vendors from the area's farmers markets, outdoor exhibits, and the local art and music scene, with a great location, you get the Akron Free Market. Through the generosity of the University Presbyterian Church providing the indoor and outdoor facilities, we have created an atmosphere where just about everyone can get booth space at no charge to promote, sell or demonstrate their goods and services. Plus, we will be featuring local entertainment in the 2700 sq. ft. indoor banquet hall during the event.
