The Market Board is committed to bring local produce to the inner city, maintaining a year round market, and encouraging the preservation of family farming and sustainable agriculture. The market participates in the WIC Farm Market Nutrition Program. Eligible women and their children receive coupons that may only be spent on fresh Ohio fruits and vegetables. Through the Department of Aging we have a similar program for the elderly. Working in partnership with The Cuyahoga County Board of Health, the OSU Extension and the City and residents of East Cleveland we host a community garden on a part of the property. In addition it is also working with the Cuyahoga County Cardiovascular Task Force to provide a "Farmer in the Schools" educational program for schools in East Cleveland. Now accepting the Ohio Direction Card (food stamps).
