We are currently accepting new members for the 2009 CSA season. For more information, please read on or go to our website (www.pennscorner.com) where you can sign up for CSA share online.
Penn's Corner CSA Shares provide weekly deliveries of fresh fruits and vegetables from our family farms in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Plus, they also include other farm products like free-range eggs, mushrooms, honey, and more. Chose one of the options that is best for you. All the CSA boxes contain the same volume, but we have three different season lengths for you to choose from: 8, 22, or 30 weeks.
These are the three different options:
The full-season Farmers Friend Share combines both the Harvest and Cabin Fever Share together and supplies you with high-quality local produce from Easter through Halloween--30 weeks of the best farm food our region has to offer, and its our best value!
The Harvest Share runs 22 weeks, from mid-June through the first week of November. This share features the full bounty of the summer growing season--sweet corn, heirloom tomatoes, peaches, and melons, to name just a few.
The Cabin Fever Share runs 8 weeks, from mid April until mid of June. This option is perfect for those who cant wait to eat fresh produce in the spring (a month before farmers markets reopen). You can expect lots of fresh greens, lettuces, and other non-veggie farm products like cheese and mushrooms.
We currently have weekly pickup locations at the East End Food Co-op on Meade St. in Point Breeze, East End Ave in Regent Square, Forward Ave, Woodmont St, and Bartlett St in Squirrel Hill; Millington Rd in Greenfield, Goose Creek Gardens in Oakdale, Chislett St in Morningside, Enrico's Tazza D'oro in Highland Park, Howe St in Shadyside, Penn Ave in Lawrenceville, S Winebiddle St in Friendship, Gulf Tower downtown, Bedford Sqare on the South Side, King James Dr in Franklin Park, La Grande Dr in Cranberry Township, W Madison Circle in Ross Township, Harrison Ave in Avalon, Northminister St in Brighton Heights, Magnolia Place and Woodhaven Dr in Mt Lebanon, West Barlind St in Whitehall, Warriors Rd in Green Tree, Beechview Ave in Beechview, and Philadelphia St in Indiana, PA.
In addition to these sites, we are looking for other homes or businesses that have interest in becoming a drop off point (this would involve providing a pickup space for 10-20 boxes)--a great way to get fresh produce into your business or neighborhood! By summer time we are hoping to add additional locations on the North Side, Monroeville, and other neighborhoods in the region. Please contact us if you have a suggestion for a new CSA location. Thanks.
Again, please call or contact PCFA for more information, or check out our website (www.pennscorner.com).
