All proceeds go to the renovation of the Walkup House and grounds. The website may be found at "WalkupHeritageFarmcom".
For 2008 we will have a total of 46 shares with three pickup days. The pickups are Mondays or Wednesdays, from 3PM to 6 PM, or Saturdays from 10Am to 1 PM. (Any shares not picked up during those time is subject to resale unless arrangements have been made).
We have divided the year into three "Seasons" to accommodate people who only want produce at a certain time of the year (such as the tomatoes). The total cost for the entire 3 seasons is $550 covering 24 weeks with an additional cut flower and fresh fruit CSA (strawberries) for 10 weeks at $150. There is a discount of ten percent for payment by 1/31/08 or five percent off if paid by 2/28/08. There is an additional "fruit and flowers" CSA for 10 weeks featuring cut flowers and heirloom strawberries for $150.
We also have a "work for food" volunteer program which can be used for all or part of the payment. Volunteers are scheduled for the planting season from April 1st through June 15th.
All produce is grown naturally, but we are not certified organic.
We will also be offering books and CD's on organic gardening and native and heirloom plants as well as cooking classes and "day at the farm" work which will include a class and a produce box to take home. We are considering adding an "egg and meat" CSA if there is enough interest. CSA members will receive discounts on purchase of books and CD's.
