Located in the flint hills tall grass prairie region of east central Kansas, Shepherd's Valley is a family owned diversified farm featuring fruits, vegetables, and herbs, direct marketed to consumers through two seasonal CSA subscription programs per year. The regular CSA subscription runs from late April through early October. Our special "Winter Green" subscription for fresh salad greens and cold-hardy crops runs from late October through December. We have been gardening using chemical-free, biologically sound methods for over 30 years. We follow organic and sustainable principles in all aspects of the farm. We also raise pastured poultry including broilers, heritage turkeys, and farm fresh eggs.

With the recent surge in interest in our farm, there is currently a waiting list for 2009 CSA shares. We raise over 35 types of fruits and vegetables, along with some culinary herbs, using organic and sustainable practices, providing 26-28 weeks of farm fresh foods to our shareholders. Pastured eggs, broilers, heritage turkeys, and grass-fed lamb may be purchased separately. Home baked breads, honey, bee pollen, sorghum molasses, jams, jellies, and handcrafted soaps are available year round.
