Located in the flint hills tall grass prairie region of east central Kansas, Shepherd's Valley is a family owned diversified farm featuring fruits, vegetables, and herbs, direct marketed to consumers through two seasonal CSA subscription programs per year. The regular CSA subscription runs from late April through early October. Our special "Winter Green" subscription for fresh salad greens and cold-hardy crops runs from late October through December. We have been gardening using chemical-free, biologically sound methods for over 30 years. We follow organic and sustainable principles in all aspects of the farm. Pastured turkey orders are due now. We have Bourbon Red Heritage turkeys and Broad-breasted Bronze turkeys available for Thanksgiving. These big, beautiful birds are raised on lush green pastures and are fed organic grains supplemented with kelp and trace minerals. Our birds are raised and processed without antibiotics, vaccinations, or injected food additives. Contact us for availability and pricing. We always sell out - usually in late September. Reserve is $30/bird.
