Katchkie Farm/ Great Performances

In 2006, Great Performances bought 60 acres of rolling fields in Kinderhook, NY, and on this land we’ll operate Katchkie Farm and establish The Sylvia Center. At the farm we’ll grow organic food, and at the Center we’ll teach children about healthful nutrition and the joys of farming.

Katchkie Farm has 35 acres of open field, 15 acres of old woods, five acres of lush grassy lawn and a two acre pond. Three streams cross it; vibrant animal life populates it (bass in the pond, foxes and coyote in the woods, frogs all over, rabbits, the full array of field creatures…); a row of evergreens salutes along the main road; birdsong fills the air; and the Catskills loom in the west.
