About Us:
We are a small family farm that has in our community since 1995.
We practice natural, Bio-intensive mini-farming: using a sustainable, rotational grazing and rotating crop farming system to provide foods for our family. We plant our own grown/preserved seed of heirloom vegetables and open-pollinated varieties and also raise part of the livestock feed/hay.. We raise 'heritage breeds' of chickens and turkeys to help ensure a future local gene pool for those breeds; and, to help provide naturally grown and nutritious foods for ourselves.
If you have ever tasted 'Heritage' meat or eggs that are grown from minimal use of grain and pastured over 90% of it's life, you may never go back to eating what you did before you tasted it!! When our livestock is not on pasture in winter; we feed alfalfa hay; regular pasture hay/straw; sprouted grains and legumes; fresh grown grasses from our cellar trays; extra goat milk and eggs; supplements from dried seaweed; dried sweetcorn and stalks; beets and turnips; and, the poultry get their protein portion of worms from our 'vermiculture' bins. <
