In 1994, when Philip began working in Charlotte, NC, they chose to build their farm in Sandy Ridge Township, Union County, NC, just 24 miles south of Charlotte.
Poplar Ridge Farm offers five types of CSA memberships: Produce and Herbs, Flowers, Poultry/Eggs/Bread, Goat CheeseP and Pork. Our Poultry/Egg/Bread, Goat Cheese and Pork CSA are in collaboration with five other local farms. We are a small family-owned and managed farm that is USDA Organic Certified. Our selling season is approximately 46 weeks. We specialize in unique varieties of produce and flowers. Flowers can be purchased by the stem or arranged bouquets. We offer recipes, tours, special events and seasonal cooking classes taught by area chefs and CSA member experts.
Members and non-members can also purchase any of our surplus. Surplus orders are taken by email and customers can choose from farm pick-up or centralized delivery in Charlotte, Elizabeth, Myers Park , Eastover, Ballantyne and Door-to-Door service within a 30 mile radius of the farm.
Poplar Ridge Farm also supplies organic produce to Charlotte restaurants.
We offer two intern positions each year and we are qualified to assist with college credit independent studies.
