2009 will be my 6th season of growing vegetables, herbs and edibles flowers. I grow my vegetables according to Organic Standards, but I am not certified. I enjoy the very laborious and satisfying work and most challenges that come along with vegetable farming.
At the end of June 2008, we bought our new farm in Bakersfield, Vermont. Our orignial brick house was built in 1820 and the addition in wood was built in 1850. It is a large and very beautiful house. We have a lovely old fashioned front porch to sit on and look out into the green valley and also view the beautiful mountains. We have lots of trees, including maple trees, a very old large apple orchard and plenty of pasture. I will be growing vegetables on about 4 acres this year.
