Lee and Cindy Quaintance and their son, Nathan, live in southwest Johnson County Kansas, near Edgerton. They farm approximately 400 acres of ground that is certified by Indiana certified organic. A variety of crops are grown including spelt, rye, wheat, corn, clover seed, natto beans, barley, sorghum and buckwheat. Cattle and chickens are also raised. Honeybees live on the farm to insure better pollination.
Lee is a fourth generation farmer who grew up near Gardner, Kansas. Cindy grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, and moved to the farm when they got married. They are both active in their community and church. In their spare time they do living history demonstrations, volunteer with the Amateur Radio Emergency Services as ham radio operators, and are storm-spotters for the Emergency Communication Service.
