We are a small farm emphasizing sustainable and ethical practices. We focus on direct marketing through on-farm sales and a CSA share program. We have fresh produce for sale year-round but our main season is June through October. Our CSA share program provides you with 20 weekly boxes of fresh, tasty, local produce for $500 (2009 price). Vacations are not a problem with our CSA program, as we just extend your season. You may also prepay for vegetables with our Farm Bucks program and receive a 10% bonus. We welcome visitors during the season but it is necessary to call first. Currently we are experimenting with low-impact efficiencies such as sheet mulching and hay bale culture, but we also depend on labor-intensive strategies. Our desire is to utilize the calorie-efficient human brain and hand, rather than the petrol-intensive tractor.

Farm Stand

Schedule and Location:
We sell produce year-round. Only one of us is available for on-farm sales so please call first. Starting June 6th, our farm stand will be open on Saturdays from 10 am - 4 pm. This will allow us to work on Saturdays, as well as take care of customers. Saturday sales at the Ferndale Farmers Market will be through a co-operative broker starting in May.

  • An anthropological perspective is a great boon to understanding current problems and solutions. Culture trumps economics - witness the growth of sustainable agriculture in the last 40 years. Peasant agriculture is still more efficient in caloric terms than industrial agriculture and small-scale solutions hold out greater hope to feed the world. First, grow some of your own food. Second, buy locally from farmers in your area. Third, make choices when shopping at the supermarket.
