Kathy Coleman and Bob Howe recently purchased this historic farm in Dresden (est. 1789). In recent years it was known as Journey's End Farm. However, because of the extensive and prominent role its founding family played in the history of the town, we believe it should once again be known by the name of the Bridge family.
For several years, the only crop was hay for three Brahma cattle who have since found a new home in Albion.
In addition to the main house, there are two barns, a 'guest' house, a garage and sheds. Sharing the property with us is the Berhanu family, owners and operators of Lalibela Farm, who have moved their MOFGA-certified vegetable operation from Bowdoinham to Bridge Homestead.

The Bridge Homestead Farm (est. 1789) is an historic 28-acre, riverfront property in Dresden, Maine, being returned to active farming. It is home to Lalibela Farm, a MOFGA-certified vegetable operation, owned and operated by the Berhanu family. Owners of the homestead, Bob Howe and Kathy Coleman, will be raising small livestock and operating a farm store on the property in 2008, and are currently working on the main house and other buildings, to reverse several years of 'deferred maintenance.'
