Green Man Farm

The core of our farm is an organic CSA on a 1 ¼ acre garden servicing 50 families in and around Knoxville. Additionally, we have egg layers, pigs, cows, and sheep, for meat sold direct at the farmers market with our surplus produce. We host regular educational farm tours for the community, volunteer work days and potluck dinners, and farm visits by appointment. By encouraging the common interests of environmental stewardship, local economies, and a healthy food supply, we hope to form bonds with nearby urban/suburban residents and build community.

Intern Positions Available

"Flexible Intern Program". The arrangement is as follows:  25hrs work per week  Includes outfitted camping site, food from the farm, some basic food staples  2 weeks minimum commitment  opportunity to learn on a diversified organic (not certified) farm from a former public school teacher  comradely, community living, fun work environment  Interns in the 'Flex Program' will have exposure to a variety of activities and experiences from starting seed, bed preparation, transplanting, weeding, assisting with livestock care and management, egg collection, feeding, moving and monitoring sheep, cows, and pigs.  (more...)
