Our chicken feed comes from Coyote Creek Organic Feed Mill in Elgin.
We raise strong birds called variously Freedom Rangers, Colored Rangers or Poul en Rouge, which come from French stock. This breed comes from the 'slow food' movement; they take full advantage of the open-door, free ranging life they have out on our fields. Raised without medications or chemicals, our chickens are raised with great care and appreciation, from the baby brooder through each pasturing stage~ their health and happiness matter. They have a pretty fun life here~ come and visit!
Our certified organic eggs come from pastured chickens fed organic feed to supplement their forage; these eggs come from healthy, contented hens and are as wonderful tasting and nutrient-dense as our meat!
We have begun growing up a small herd of South Poll beef cattle and are not yet ready to sell our organic, grass-begun-and-finished beef. Contact us to be added to our list of customers and stay informed about what we have available and what's new on the farm.
We have packaged chicken that is USDA- processed which we offer via direct farm to consumer sales and at the Bastrop 1832 Farmers' Market each Saturday 10-2; some deliveries may be arranged. Folks love the texture and flavor! Purchase of live chickens may also be possible. Our eggs are also available at the Bastrop market or from the farm. Call or email for more information.
