Update 6/12/2009: The garden is more or less finished for the summer. The heat and humidity is just too brutal for the plants to thrive. I'll spend the rest of the summer improving the soil with cover crops and compost, and aim for some fall produce starting about mid-September. Of course we always have fresh eggs available. Update 5/8/2009: Plenty of onions; cucumbers, green beans (a purple pod bean and a standard green pod bean), yellow squash, zucchini starting to come in with small quantities. Tomatoes are just barely showing a tinge of red; should be ready soon. Carrots and radishes are still good, but the heat will finish them off over the next three weeks or so. Always plenty of eggs available.<
