Nestled in the foothills of the Catoctin mountin range in Frederick County, Miolea is an ecologically sensitive, small certified organic farm growing native fruits, certifed organic vegetables, herbs, berries and eggs. Miolea raises certified organic Rhode Island Red layers and broilers, a heritage breed listed as "recovering" on the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy. Miolea also offers certified organic French and Italian bread made to order, Organic Strawberry Jam hand made with our strawberries, and Honey from our farm. In the off season, Miolea holds Italian cooking classes using organic and fresh ingredients. Farm and educational tours are offered upon request. Miolea, established on land once owned by Charles Carroll (a signer of the Declaration of Independance) is a humane farm raising free range chickens on certified organic grasses and feed. We offer educational tours and Intimate (3-4) person Italian cooking classes with fresh, seasonal and organic ingredients. Internships available.
