At Fickle Creek Farm we have worked to create a system that has minimum impact on the environment, is sustainable, and includes humane treatment for the animals we keep. Our vegetables are naturally grown without pesticides, herbicides, or inorganic fertilizer. Our eggs and chicken come from free-ranging flocks on pasture that never receive hormones, antibiotics, or animal by-products. Steers, pigs, and sheep are all raised on pasture without confinement, antibiotics, hormones, or grain finishing. Yearly participant in the Piedmont Farm Tour. Host for two apprentices and four WWOOFer volunteers each year. Vendor at four local farmers' markets in central North Carolina (Durham, Eno River, South Estes, Western Wake) and at Weaver Street Market in Carrboro and Hillsborough.
