Wild Oats Farm has been designated a "Conservation Farm" by the Thomas Jefferson Soil and Water Conservation District. Streams and ponds are fenced to protect our surface water sources and the Cheasapeake Bay Watershed. All livestock drink fresh well water and are in a rotational grazing system. Our meat products are processed at a USDA inspected facility and we offer individual cuts that are frozen and vacuum packed. None of the animals that are processed have ever been given antibiotics or hormones, nor have they been fed any animal by-products. Beef is in limited quantity due to drought conditions in 2006 - 2007. The beef is pasture finished and is very lean. The lamb is from our St. Croix sheep, a conservation breed. Our pork is from Tamworth cross hogs which live and root in an oak tree wood lot.
