Local Harvest CSA is committed to sustainable and organic agriculture: supporting new and existing local farms and farm families, preserving and building the soil for the future, and providing wholesome food directly to the consumer. The ZJ Family has been a vegetable grower for Local Harvest CSA since its inception in 1997. Susan and her four children - Frances, Reuben, David and George - share in the work of their 80 acre farm. Growing vegetables for Local Harvest CSA is only one component of their small, diversified farm, a diversity that is becoming more necessary for the survival of family farms in general. Their pasture-fed lamb and pork are marketed direct to consumers.
