Spring has Sprung at Jay's Garden Variety. We still have a few CSA shares for 2009.
We are currently working in the cold frame and have a lot of herbs started for the season. We've put the cauliflower, brocolli, onions and radishes in and hope the weather cooperates. Some lettuces and spinach are in and more will go in next week. The strawberry patch is all set and the blackberries are pruned and clipped. We should have plenty for U-pick this summer. The Muskadine vineyard is doing well; it will be a few years for the grapes. We're working to expand blueberries into the mix. The new water catchment system worked great this year-1" of rain brought in over 1000 gallons of water.
