This is my 4th year of growing vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers. I grow my vegetables according to Organic Standards, but I am not certified, yet. I am farming on 2 1/2 acres tilled up with my son Ben. He is one of the hardest workers there is. I will have a lot more vegtables this year, and more varieties. I will have Jacob's Cattle Beans and Vermont Cranberry beans. Many of my vegetables are heirloom. I make Violet Jelly, out of Johnny Jump Up violets, which is a beautiful natural violet color with a great taste, mint jelly, and basil jelly. Basil jelly is great with pork roast. I also make hot pepper jelly. I make tomatillo salsa and have that fresh in season and also can it for later. I p (more...)
