Our family farm was started 70 years ago, in 1939, when Dale Peterson settled in Cannon Falls to do what he had been trained to do: raise turkeys. In the beginning, he shared a home with incubators, and the sound of day-old turkeys routinely filled the house. Dale always believed that raising high-quality turkeys was the best contribution he could make to the world, and we continue to follow in that tradition today. Now in our third generation, we are proud to carry on the legacy of Dale, and his wife, Fern, through our turkey products that bear their name: Ferndale Market. All Ferndale Market turkeys are grown free-range on our family farm, raised without antibiotics, and processed-naturally at a USDA facility.
