Scientific Name: Tanacetum parthenium (L.)
Feverfew is a Perennial. It was introduced to the Americas from Europe. Feverfew is commonly used as a preventative for migraines. Because Feverfew is said to have anti-inflammatory properties it has been used to treat the inflammation of eczema. This is possibly why the Cherokees used this plant to bathe swollen feet. It is considered useful for the treatment of migraine, arthritis, and fever. A recent French study has shown that for migraines, feverfew may work best in combination with white willow. This herb is best used fresh or frozen as the dried herb is significantly less effective.
This plant is beautiful in your garden. I planted some in a tub and they are so bright and pretty.
